Owner

I’m Leanne Blumberg, a certified teacher with over 22 years of classroom experience before making the leap to full-time tutoring. I have spent over 20 years helping children unlock the magic of reading, and I believe that learning to read should be joyful. That is exactly what we have built at Bunny Reading.

Structured literacy is the science. The spark is what we bring to it. Between the animals, the games, the prizes, and a curriculum that truly works, children don’t just learn to read here. They look forward to coming back.

Every child who walks through our door is met with patience, enthusiasm, and a personalized path forward. Because when a child feels excited about learning, everything changes.

Dorron Blumberg

VP & Operations

Behind every great reading experience at Bunny Reading is Dorron, the operational force keeping everything running smoothly. With over 15 years of experience in marketing and operations, Dorron brings a rare blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution to the team — ensuring that Bunny Reading’s vision translates seamlessly into day-to-day reality.

While much of the work happens behind the scenes, Dorron’s fingerprints are on every part of the operation: streamlining processes, driving growth strategies, and making sure the systems that support Bunny Reading’s mission run efficiently and effectively. That deep operational expertise, paired with a marketer’s eye for connecting with audiences, means Dorron doesn’t just keep the wheels turning — he’s constantly looking for ways to make Bunny Reading better, faster, and more impactful.

Whether it’s refining internal workflows, shaping marketing strategy, or solving the everyday challenges that come with running a growing business, Dorron is the steady hand ensuring Bunny Reading continues to thrive.

Ms. Cara

Assistant Director & Tutor

Cara’s diverse experience in education includes teaching English to international students, leading teacher certification programs, and working as a tutor and behavioral therapist for neurodivergent children. She has taught students in Argentina, Chile, Spain, Colorado, and Arizona.

Cara holds a BA in developmental psychology and an MA in communication. She also brings 15 years of experience in communications and marketing for language institutes. She believes every child learns differently and uses a gentle, calm, engaging approach while maintaining a strong focus on building the foundation needed for lifelong reading success.

Ms. Lori

Tutor

Ms. Lori” is a Tucson native with 10+ years of experience working in local school districts as an educational assistant for pre-K and K-12. She has been married for 27 years with 4 kids, ages 18-25. She is continuing her education through online classes and has completed a Family Relations Certificate, with the eventual goal of becoming a marriage and family therapist. She enjoys working with a variety of ages and getting to know new people.

She loves to read and has coordinated a ladies’ book club for 20+ years! Additional interests include trying new restaurants, board and card games, piano and singing(taught both), pickleball, and badminton. She has thoroughly enjoyed working with all the kids in Bunny Reading and Writing and seeing them improve their reading skills and levels by leaps and bounds! When they get to the point of novel reading, it’s just like having an extra book club to attend-so much fun!

Ms. Kathy

Tutor

Kathy is from Columbus, Ohio, and has dedicated her career to education since 1976. She holds degrees in both General Education and Special Education from Ohio University, with a specialization in severe behavioral disorders.

Over her extensive career of over 42 years with Columbus City Schools, Kathy has also served as a tutor with Sylvan Learning Center and nearly a year with Bunny Reading and Writing.

Kathy’s expertise lies in creating inclusive classrooms that promote academic growth and social development. She has taught special education from first through twelfth grade and has also instructed gifted and talented students in ancient civilizations and language arts.

Kathy has been actively involved in the Columbus Education Association, serving on its board and contributing significantly to the design of numerous individual education programs.

Committed to fostering engaging and supportive learning environments, Kathy is dedicated to helping every student achieve success while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for learning.
